The California Dragonboat Association is the parent organization for the majority of the bay area’s dragonboat teams, Ripple Effect included. The CDBA is in the running for a grant in the annual Chase Bank community giving program, and they can use your vote!
The top 200 organizations by votes will receive a grant: Charity #1 gets $250K. Four runners up get $100K and the rest of the top 200 get $20K each. That’s a lot of money that can be used for new boats, improved facilities and equipment for all of our teams to use!

Paid-member practices start next week
As we get ready for our Fremont race, practice will be closed to paid members starting Monday July 5th! Feel free to bring your friends or give us a try until then.
Start getting ready for Long Beach
If you’re racing with us in Long Beach, please start making your travel arrangements for the weekend of July 31st.
Just like our Vancouver trip, we’ll be releasing a spreadsheet for all participants to enter their travel & rooming info. Unlike our Vancouver trip, however, there is no Friday practice at the race site.
Also, please respond to the new evite for our dinner reservation at Green Field Churrascaria following the first day of racing on Saturday, July 31st.
