Great job to all of our mixed crews for medaling in their final races! Fearless gets second in Rec C, Furious was first in Rec B, and Fast gets third in Comp B!

Along with all the great race results, we welcomed Space Dragons and Pond Scum, sharing a lot of good food and hopefully making a lot of new friends. Congrats to Kathleen on winning the Assassins game, she won a $30 gift certificate to the Ripple Schwag Store!

We need your pictures!

If you’d like your pictures to be shown here, please contact our web staff at ripplesf@gmail.com for instructions on how to upload- we’re still looking for action shots and even more memories to share with Space Dragons and Pond Scum!

Thank you to Monday’s UHaul volunteers

A big thank you to everyone who came back to the lake on Monday night to unload all the race supplies and organize them all back in the Lake Merced boat house.

It took over three hours, but the burgers at Nation’s that followed were well-deserved!

Saturday practice resumes October 9

The racing season is over until next year, but we’ll be back at it again! Practices will continue just on Saturdays at 9am starting October 9 and go on until weather no longer permits.

There are no dues that need to be paid and no races to get ready for, so practices will focus mainly on technique and will be generally less intense. If you have friends that wanted to give the sport a try without any pressure, now’s the time to bring them out!

Kayaking & Oysters October 10

Don’t forget that our annual kayak & oysters trip to Marin is coming soon! While the kayaking spots are filled, you’re welcome to join the oyster feast at the Tomales Bay Oyster Company – please head there before noon so we can save some tables!

With our final race of the year at Treasure Island only hours away, we hope you’re ready! Great turnout for our last weekday practice and dinner as well!

More help needed

If you have Friday off, we can use some help at the Treasure Island race site [visible to the right as you come down the causeway] to unload equipment, set up Ripple’s tent area and dress the boats!

We can also use volunteers (21+) to help staff the paddler’s party at Fluid at 5pm.

Please drop us a line at ripplesf@gmail.com or call Charles at (415) 385-6047 if you’d like to lend a hand!

Paddler’s party tonight

For $10 USD, you’ll get VIP entry which includes drink specials, appetizers, raffle prizes, and a chance to meet and hang out with other visiting and local teams before the festival. Please note that because of the venue all attendees must be 21 and over, and IDs will be checked at the door.

Great job on the water this past weekend! With your technique down and endurance up, the Treasure Island race shouldn’t be a problem at all!

Treasure Island doesn’t set up by itself!

Remember that we still need help setting up equipment on Friday at the race site (all day), and also at the 21+ paddler party at Fluid Ultra Lounge (6-10pm). Please drop us a line at ripplesf@gmail.com if you’d like to lend a hand!

Thank you for helping with the SFL fundraiser

Thanks to everyone who made it to Sports Basement this past sunday to help raise money for fellow dragon boat team Suen Feng Loong. There was a lot of good food & drink, and new friends to be made!

[They practice right next to us at Lake Merced, you should get to know them!]

And speaking of fundraisers…

Thank you once again for helping to make our auction at Horizon a huge success! The preliminary numbers are in and we raised over three thousand dollars, with 10% of our collections going to the San Bruno fire relief charities as well!
